Short Biography

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Armağan was born in 1968 in Isparta, Sütçüler, Kesme Village. He graduated from Istanbul Vefa High School in 1985. In 1992, he received the title of medical doctor from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine.

He performed his compulsory service in Afyon Kızılören Central Health Centre and his military service as a reserve officer in Ardahan Military Hospital between 1993-1997. He completed his Urology Speciality training at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology between 1997-2002.

Between 2003-2008, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology. Prof. Dr. He worked as Assoc. Prof. Dr. at the same faculty between 2009-2010. In 2004-2005, he worked as a researcher at the Department of Urology, Faculty of Medicine, Boston University, USA for more than a year and carried out serious researches especially in the field of andrology.

He worked as Associate Professor at Bezmialem Vakif University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology between 2010-2015 and received the title of Prof. Dr. at the same university in 2015. He worked at Bahçelievler Medicalpark Hospital between 2016-2019. In March 2019, he established the Uromer – urology clinic and still continues to work in this centre.

As his scientific studies, he has scientific research articles published in good international journals within the scope of 85 Sci and Sci expanded, research articles published in many national journals, papers in international and national congresses, many scientific book chapters and one book editorship (Multidisciplinary approach to sexuality and fertility in oncological patients).

The number of citations to international scientific articles is 3227 and the h-index is 33. He has contributed significantly to the establishment of Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology, performed MicroPNL surgery for the first time in our country and prioritised its dissemination and published many publications in international journals on this subject.

He has received national and international paper awards. He is certified by the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM) and is particularly interested in urological cancers, andrology, stone diseases and paediatric urology. He is a member of international EAU, AUA, ESSM and national professional associations such as Turkish Urology, Turkish Andrology and Endourology.

He was a member of the board of directors of the Turkish andrology association and served as general secretary for a period. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of both Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine and Bezmialem Foundation University Faculty of Medicine. The most current hobbies of Dr Armağan, whose foreign language is English, are skiing, motorbike riding and blowing ney as music. He is married, has 2 children and one grandchild.
